Kuaipay is involved in the contactless payments business. The company has a 5 year contract for the sale and distribution of a contactless prepaid Beijing Transportation Card outside of commuter and bank locations. There has been a government mandate dictating the use of these cards by 2008 for all commuter transportation - bus, subway, taxi and highway. Kuaipay has been authorized to setup a POS network for recharge. In addition, Kuaipay is able to a use the POS network to accept payments from the transportation card for retail products and other non-transportation products, and b) to sell advertising and personalization on the cards.
